At Petersburg Is Growing, we believe that small actions can lead to big changes. That’s the heart of our volunteer program, Mini Hands For Light Work, which focuses on cultivating community spirit through hands-on service every Monday throughout the summer in Petersburg, VA. Led by our dedicated Volunteer Chair, Larry Bartenstein, this initiative brings together a group of passionate volunteers with a shared goal: to care for local farms and beautify our neighborhoods.
Every week, up to a dozen volunteers roll up their sleeves and get to work, helping with projects that directly improve our environment. From tending to crops at our local farms to revitalizing public spaces in our community, these volunteers are making a lasting impact, one project at a time.
