How Petersburg Is Growing collects, uses, and protects information from visitors, volunteers, and families.
Who we are
Petersburg Is Growing Inc. ("P.I.G.", "we", "our") is a Black-led nonprofit rooted in Petersburg, Virginia. This policy applies to petersburgisgrowing.org and related Pathways run by P.I.G.
Information we collect
- Info you give us: when you enroll a Little Light, volunteer, donate, book a session, or contact us — name, email, phone, and anything you choose to share in a form.
- Automatic info: basic device, browser, and page-view data so we can keep the site running and understand what's useful.
- Payments & donations: processed by our third-party partners (e.g. Stripe). We do not store card numbers.
- Program codes: farm/soil codes used to recognize returning growers and volunteers without putting passwords on kids.
How we use it
- To run our programs, respond to messages, and coordinate visits.
- To send updates you've asked for (newsletter, enrollment notices).
- To improve the site and understand which resources are helpful.
- To meet legal, tax, and grant-reporting obligations.
Who we share with
We don't sell your information. We share only with service providers who help us operate — email, forms, payments, hosting, and analytics — and only what they need to do that work. We may share information when required by law.
Children's privacy
Programs for youth collect information from a parent or guardian, not the child directly. Parents may review, correct, or request deletion of their child's information at any time by emailing us.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom.
- Request a copy of, correction to, or deletion of your information.
- Manage cookie preferences via the banner (see our Cookie Policy).
How we protect it
We use reputable hosting and access controls, and limit staff access to what's needed to run programs. See our Data Safety page for more detail. No online service is perfectly secure, but we treat your information with care.
